Medic One Educational Support Policy (Internal)
Background
Staff training and education is integral to achieving enhanced performance, productivity and employee satisfaction. The Medic One Charity is committed to supporting CPD for all Emergency Medicine staff recognising that this will be of benefit to the individual employee, the services we provide as the ED team and the benefit to patients and the Emergency Department as a whole.
Specific Guidance
Medic One funding will be considered on the following basis:
Personal development needs
Anticipated benefit to patient care
To provide appropriate level of training for the individual’s role
Available funding
Service requirements
Previous funding granted
Benefit to patients, other ED staff and the Emergency Medicine service.
Following application, Medic One trustees will have 4 weeks to respond to requests.
Aim and Purpose
To encourage professional and personal development and offer learning opportunities to all staff
To ensure equity and fairness to all ED team members
To manage the Medic One charitable funds in a way that will ensure equity and fairness
Utility
Medic One funds may be used to cover:
Course fees
Attending educational meetings
Conference fees
NB. This list is not exhaustive.
Self funding can also be discussed as well as other institutional funding opportunities.
Application Process
Applications will be made to the Medic One trustees via the submission of a completed application form. The applications process will be reviewed by the trustees.
